I love Mortons! I also love the fact that there are several dotted around Oxford, so no matter where I am, I'm never too far from one! This branch is particularly great as you can sit outside when it's warm. I love their wraps and the chicken and mango chutney baguette is an awesome combination that doesn't sound like it should work, yet it does They really cram the sarnies full of food, so watch out for dropping the entrails of your baguette all down your clothes if you have somewhere smart to go afterwards!
The cakes are award-winning and everything with chocolate in is delicious. They're quite health-conscious, though, and do sell fruit at a reasonable rate. The only slight disappointment is perhaps the limited range of drinks outside of coffee and sugary fizzy things. It's really not unreasonable; maybe I've just been spoilt by other sandwich bars. -

Good sandwiches. Reasonable prices. Great outdoors seating at the Broad St location. Disgusting coffee.

This is a lovely sandwich bar, hiddenaway from the hustle and bustle of Oxford city centre.
All of the baguettes and wraps are freshly made, and there is a good selection of fillings to pick from.
Prices are reasonable given the high quality of their food, with baguettes starting from around £2.30.
There is a small seating area upstairs, and also one outside, which is lovely in the summer months.
This is definitely worth a visit if you are in Oxford city centre for lunch. The food is great and the staff are friendly and helpful, and it is a rare treat to be able to eat outside in the centre of Oxford and get some peace and quiet at the same time! -

The sandwiches at Mortons are usually delicious, always fresh and they have some good deals. But there are some reasons why you should walk the 200 metres or so to the Covered Market branch rather than going this one. Firstly, the 'meal deal' which is £3.33 at the other branches is, sneakily, £3.50 here! Presumably this is to trap tourists and students who can't be bothered going elsewhere for the sake of saving 17p. Secondly, the service at this branch is notoriously slow. We call it the place where time stops. If you go there at 1pm and there's a queue out the door, just don't expect the staff to be rattling through it.

In Oxford city centre there seems to be one sandwich shop for every three inhabitants seriously, they're everywhere but this one is better than average. Their baguettes are seriously tasty, and the variety of fillings is good. The bread is always fresh and prices are actually pretty reasonable, given the location and the high cost of just about everything in Oxford. It's a tiny little place but has a small seating area upstairs personally I wouldn't bother sitting, just grab your food and find a bench somewhere on Broad Street, a beautiful part of Oxford. Definitely worth giving this place a try!
